Half of my project was spent on gathering stories from people of different backgrounds. I feel to be properly informed on immigration; you have to be able to understand and see the humanity behind the numbers. My stories show humanity in an extremely political and divisive topic. Each interview lasted about 45 minutes but trusted me; they could've gone on for hours. What you will read in this section is personal testimonies from immigrants in my family and the Lovett community blended in with my personal realizations and reflections. I tried to keep my interviews as politic free as possible, but there's no denying politics and policy strongly affect the lives of an immigrant. My reflections were not written to sway anyone's opinions, but merely to challenge my community to think, be more open-minded, and appreciate the privilege every American is born with.
